"Material that keeps breathing"

SIRI SIRI has an ARABESQUE series that challenged the material with rattan as a collection from the early days.

This time I would like to talk about rattan.

When it comes to rattan that you see in Japan, most of it is already processed into products such as baskets and furniture, and has a smooth texture that feels good on the skin.

Do you know where and in what form "rattan" originally lived?

Rattan is a climbing plant of the palm family, and there are more than 200 species.

Originally, it is very long and grows wild with many thorns on the surface, and depending on the species, it is said to be the longest plant on earth, with a maximum length of 200m.

The country of origin is mainly in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Deep in the jungle of the rainforest area.

The thorns of the rattan collected from the inland area are removed, and the rattan is processed into round higo or kamaboko shapes, which are then exported to countries around the world.

Rattan is very flexible and light, and is valued as a material that can express complex curves by soaking it in water and shaping it.

After all, because it is a natural material, the color and hardness are different for each material arrival.

Many processes are required, such as sorting out the jewelry and shaping it after polishing the surface one by one to make it into jewelry that "touches the skin," and carefully removing fluff during the finishing process. .

SIRI SIRI jewelry takes time, care, and love, and is delivered to everyone.

There are countless holes in the cross section of the rattan.

Hearing that "rattan breathes" made me love it even more as jewelry.

Light, skin-friendly jewelry that is carefully finished one by one through a long process from thorny plants deep in the jungle.

Please take it in your hand, touch it, and wear it.

::Rattan care notes::

It is a material that can be used for a long time depending on the care, use and storage conditions. Because it is a natural material, it will change over time, but please enjoy the change as well.

・After use, remove dust with a soft cloth and wipe dry.

・Avoid direct sunlight and store in a well-ventilated place.

・To remove light stains, use a toothbrush or cotton swab with a diluted neutral detergent. After wiping with a wet cloth that has been tightly wrung out, let it dry thoroughly.
